Briarhill Custom

Kitchen, Scullery, & Dining Room Reveal

Our Briarhill Custom project will stay at the top of our favourite list for years. With a large extended family in Calgary, the clients for this new home knew they wanted a gorgeous, highly functional kitchen. So whether it’s daily dinners or the large weekly family dinners that take place here, we have them covered with these three stunning spaces.

The Kitchen

An old-world style is what these clients wanted for the kitchen. A space that looks like it could have been built years ago or today.

With a rich, creamy cabinetry colour, we are bringing much-needed warmth where we live. Since we are surrounded by snow for a substantial amount of time, taking that into account for the interior colours of our homes is critical.

The finished on-site white oak hardwood flooring and white oak island create an excellent anchor point for the main-level living areas—just enough contrast with the cabinet and wall colour but not too much that it makes a distraction.

Stunning honed marble slabs imported from Italy are the perfect complement to the handcrafted millwork thought-out and the Lacanche range from France.

The Scullery

This space connects the kitchen to the formal dining room through one of the custom white oak French doors you saw in the kitchen images above. This area is not only jaw-dropping beautiful but also a space where a lot of action can take place.

Inside the scullery, the clients have a built-in full-size freezer, which is ideal for our cold Calgary winters. There is no need to have a deep freeze in the detached garage or basement when it was designed to be right off the kitchen! There is also an additional wall oven for those big family meals, a microwave, a sink, and an extra dishwasher to keep up with daily life and weekend dinner parties.

The Dining Room

This striking formal dining room is located just off of the front entrance of the home, and it is also accessible through a saloon-style door that leads to the scullery. The detailed millwork on the built-in cabinet is paired perfectly with a dark and dramatic wall colour that perfectly compliments the custom drapery by The Heather Co. and the crystal and brass chandelier.

We can confirm that there have been many successful dinners here and that what the clients envisioned was accomplished. We are honoured to have been chosen to create a space where they will make lasting memories for years to come!
