Exterior design, Veranda Custom

When designing Veranda Custom, there were two design details that the entire home was designed around. These features include walls of windows to frame the fully treed property and accent lighting that adds drama as the sunset.

Feature Hallway 1

The first design element that we wanted to include in the exterior and interior of the Veranda Custom floorplan, located just north of Calgary city limits on a secluded 20-acre parcel, was this long hallway on the main level of the home with windows looking east and capturing the stunning sunrises every morning.

This extra wide hallway has accent uplighting that comes on as the sun sets and adds the perfect amount of drama along the wall of windows. The two steps lead to the living room with south and west-facing windows. This brings in beautiful natural light from sunrise to sunset in this home.

The second element that was a must for this new home was this hallway featured below…

Depending on where you live, this detail has many names. For those local to Calgary, it is a Plus 15. Others have called it The Bridge, whatever you want to call it. It was one of the keys featured for this new home and a detail that a lot of the house was designed around.
