When the clients for this custom home reached out and asked us to help them design and build their second Veranda home, we were thrilled. We can't think of a better compliment than that. They found a fantastic property on a tree-lined street in Parkdale with a large nature preserve right in their backyard, giving them privacy and a sense of being outside of the city. Once the development permit was approved, we got to work on the interior selections and talk about a fun home to work on. The clients wanted something unique, so it all started with the dramatic black cabinets used throughout the house. To ensure that the home wasn't feeling too dark and heavy, we paired this with honed marble countertops and a natural finish to the white oak floors that graced the residence. A third story loft with an additional bathroom was also a great solution since the underdrive garage did take away a bit of space in the lower level development. While it was a challenge only having access from the front of the property, we enjoyed the process, from the initial design to handing over the keys to this beauty to our repeat clients.
