The design process with custom homes is always amazing, we love seeing the design evolve as the plans come to fruition. The clients for this luxury home in Springbank originally wanted something that reminded them of a mountain retreat. As the plans were being developed, a cedar post & beam exterior with dark accents transitioned into a light coloured pallet featuring timeless and classic elements on the exterior, and that flowed into the interior of the home. Rustic finished on site wide plank hardwood is installed throughout the main level, and on the staircases, with the tall and vaulted ceilings is the perfect wood to help ground the home and add a touch of warmth. White oak cabinetry, honed granite countertops, marble tiles, and accents of antiqued mirror are sprinkled throughout the house on all levels. This helped create rooms that are individual and unique, yet they work together as a whole. And we do have to note the pantry in this home, by far one of our favourites to date. A secondary working kitchen complete with an additional full-size fridge and freezer, convection steam oven and the microwave. This creates such an incredible wow factor, and it also allows the kitchen to be streamlined with plenty of counter space and storage.
