When our clients approached us about building a classic and timeless home in Renfrew's community, we started pulling together ideas and inspirational images over endless cups of coffee. It all started with a Craftsman-inspired exterior using cement board siding, traditional window detailing, and full bed brick accents. From there, the interior layout developed floor by floor and room by room. On the main level, the interior transoms added an old-world charm that was typically seen in homes built in the early 1900s. Keeping in line with how houses used to be built and designed, we used finished on site hardwood flooring on the main and second level, and all of the cabinetry throughout the home was built-on-site by master artisans. In the kitchen, honed quartzite and honed granite countertops played off of the bevelled marble backsplash and apron front sink, and the Lacanche Range was a welcome addition and surrounded by beautiful cabinets. On the upper level, gorgeous marble slabs were selected for the master bathroom vanity tops to complement the marble herringbone heated floor tile. Bring in a bit of history was the handcrafted barn door to the master suite that was constructed out of local barn wood from Calgary. Adding in small details such as this is a beautiful way to make our homes truly custom.
